"Foundational Bass is essential for excellent Musical Reproduction"
A two-way system that is a unique loudspeaker design with a solid surface outer finish, which enables a very 'dead' cabinet construction. This new design consists of David's internal Horn derived bass loading. It uses an excelled Paper Cone (modified) Bass/Mid unit combined with a 1" modified dome high frequency unit.
The accurate bass performance creates the foundation of the music being played. The only condition about this is that each reproductive part of the system needs to be isolated against spurious resonances, especially turntables used for vinyl recordings.
Part of the design of our new range of speakers, is that we have the solid surface construction that uses a material mainly used in high end office industries. The product we use on the M-4 is Staron. Staron is often mistaken for real marble.
The M-4 uses Staron over the entire cabinet. This produces a very inert and heavy cabinet, usually the source of many resonant problems. The M-4 is available in either black-speckled or plain white Staron.
Technically the speaker uses an 8 Ohm 6" Paper Cone Bass/Mid-Unit paired with a high quality 1" modified high frequency unit. We estimate that the speaker will handle a comfortable 50 watts of RMS power. However, we have never driven the Bass units to destruction.
As a system, we set the speakers overall power rating at 50 watts. They are Hi-Fi speakers and are not designed for PA use.
Hand built Staron stands are available to order.
Impedance: 8 Ohms
