This design consists of 2 separate chambers that keep the specially developed 10" Radial Volt Bass Unit and the SB Audience Bass/Mid-Range apart from each other and both having rear exits of their indeterminate length horn loading. This prevents any constriction if the bass/mid-range that are usually contained in a restrictive box structure.
The M-10 also uses the very well established RT2H-A tweeter unit.
The bass performance is exceptional, as all of David's designs have shown over the years.
The accurate Bass performance creates the foundation of the music being played. The only drawback is that each reproductive part of the system needs to be isolated against spurious resonances, especially turntables used for vinyl recordings.
We have developed a special new baffle construction within the designs of our new range, which is using a material mainly used in high-end kitchen and office furniture. The product we use on the M-10 is known by its original name of Corian. Corian or similar materials are often mistaken for being real marble.
The M-10 uses 12mm Corian type material over a 25mm high quality MDF and also has a 'egg' shape, also made of Corian set into the routed sheet attached to the MDF.
This produces a very inert front baffle, usually the source of many resonant problems.
The M-10 is available with a number of veneer choices and some different choice colours for the Corian baffles and egg shape.
Technically the speaker uses an 8 Ohm Volt Bass unit along with a SB Audience 5" Bass/Mid-Range unit and is paired with a RT2H-A tweeter unit. We estimate that the speaker will handle a comfortable 100 watts of RMS power.
